Determine condition and tally of cargo prior to loading.
Witness sealing of containers after loading and record container seal numbers.
In case of cargo damage, determine nature, cause and extended of damage, and with wetting damage conducting silver nitrate and/or laboratory analysis.

BREAK BULK CARGO SURVEY

Determine adequacy of stowage and securing for intended ocean voyage.
Determine nature, cause extent of damage resulting from ocean voyage and/or rough and improper handling.

LIQUID CARGO SURVEY

Determine quantity of liquid cargo on board by gauging, specific gravity and temperature.
Determine quantity of cargo in shore tanks by gauging, specific gravity and temperature.
Sampling of cargo in ship and shore tanks.
Comparison of cargo received or delivered by shore tank and vessel tank gauge.
Determine specific gravity of cargo.
Determine ph of cargo.
Originate or maintain chain of custody for laboratory analysis.

TANKER/TANK SURVEYS

Determine the quantity and condition of cargo carried on board a tanker.
Measurement of cargo in vessel’s cargo tanks.
Tank temperature and specific gravity are determined.
Data obtained is used to calculate the quantity of cargo on board.
Samples are taken for required analysis.

VESSEL ON & OFF HIRE CONDITION SURVEYS

Determine the condition of a vessel prior to or after a charter including bunker quantity surveys.
Vessel’s cargo holds, main deck and superstructure are inspected.
Pre-existing damages are noted and subsequently presented in a written report. This report is augmented with photographs embedded in the report.

BUNKER QUANTITY SURVEY

Determine the quantity of bunker on board vessel.
Quantities can be reported as ROB at time of survey, or calculated to the time of delivery or re-delivery.
Draw bunker samples for laboratory analysis.

VESSEL DRAFT SURVEY

Determine the quantity of cargo loaded or discharged by means of vessel displacement.
Prior to loading or discharge the vessel’s draft is read and recorded.
Determine vessel’s ballast, fresh water, fuel and diesel oil quantity. The information obtained is utilized to calculate the vessel’s initial displacement. Upon completion of loading /discharge, the same process is repeated and the final displacement is calculated. The difference between the initial and final displacement is the quantity of cargo loaded / discharged.
